Nostalgic Today
I have this must to listen to The Carpenters today – Yesterday Once More, Only Yesterday…
Why the nostalgia?
Which event in the past am I still holding on to?
—
oh myyyy… I am listening to The Carpenters again. I’ll never fall in love again, a song for you. The sweet mellow voice of Karen Carpenter, the classy tune accompanying, together with the meaningful lyrics, and not forgetting Karen’s skilful and intense ability to express. She’s not only singing the lyrics, she’s living in the moment. All the song make me feel so sad, like I have lost something important in the past. Yet again, there’s a certain joy. A kind of comfort. An unexplainable struggle of emotions.
Oh how addictive can the feeling of nostalgia be? The feeling of re-living the past, while in the present. A twilight instance. The emotions that well forth are ever so rich, so complicated, so mysterious… So profound.
I want The Carpenters’ discography!
